How do you or would like to use your imagination and original ideas to enrich the economy and culture in Arlington, and beyond?

Bio (html accepted)
I'm a partner with the Washington DC office of the international law firm of Jones Day. I specialize in litigation and business counseling. I also teach at Georgetown University Law Center. I'm involved in many activities, from national politics to local community empowerment. I'm a member of the American Law Institute, a commissioner on the Arlington Economic Development Commission, and a board member of the Northern Virginia Conservation Trust. I'm a former president of the Latino Student Fund, former board member of the Washington Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs, former board member of the Washington Humane Society, former member of the DC Bar Litigation Section Steering Committee, former board member of the Hispanic Bar Association of DC Foundation, and former president of the Ashton Heights Civic Association. In my spare time, I'm creating a class (for law students, college students, and others) and writing a book on essential so-called "success" skills that tend to be neglected in formal schooling. I also write, draw, and paint. I received my BA in Economics from Wake Forest University many years ago, and his JD from Harvard Law School shortly after that. I'm married to Teresa Martinez, and we have a little boy, Vidal, who's now five.
Who referred you? This is how we give credit!

On December 10, 2009, Creative Arlington hosted its latest meeting, a gathering of entrepreneurs and others at the headquarters of Arlington Economic Development. Almost 30 people braved bitter cold to listen to Tara Miles from AED describe co-working opportunities and participate in brainstorming. This brief post reports on the night's highlights, including data from the flip charts generated at the meeting.
