Government Policy Innovations

Does Arlington need a creative or cultural district? Do we need a new Arts Center on the Orange line or are there better ideas? What can government do to help? See, e.g. http://www.cooltownstudios.com/category/government-policy-innovation/See More

"Arlington needs to think "green economy." For example, as "green" becomes development policy, then great things can start to happen like environmentally-friendly buildings."

Hi, Jason - Thanks for your message. I'm just beginning to look around for office space - nothing urgent, nothing specific. I'd like to have a space to share with several other urbanist types so that we can share equipment, meeting space, and ideas - so probably not a true coworking space (I'd rather be in the business I'm in rather than in the office management business). I've seen Office Nomads' website before - very cool!

Yep, it looks like our work overlaps a bit. I'm occasionally asked to help community leaders figure out the potential impact of proposed sprawly development, and my other work (economic development analyses, strategies, and planning, more or less) almost always involves reviewing the community's planning and land use policies to identify practices/laws that might be inadvertently encouraging sprawl and discouraging reuse of existing neighborhoods and commercial centers.

Will you be at the Creative Arlington launch on March 5?
