Profile Information

What is your interest in the Creative Arlington beta community?
As an educator I so often see the arts cut when the economy goes south. My organization, Lightbulb Learning Services, provides arts/literacy enrichment for Arlington students (scholarships available) in these times of economic trouble. I would like to help Creative Arlington become the "go to" place for parents and schools who want to provide a unique arts outlet for Arlington's students, even those who do not consider themselves "artistic."
How do you or would like to use your imagination and original ideas to enrich the economy and culture in Arlington, and beyond?
Students can be an integral part of enriching a community's economy and culture. I'd like to focus my work on providing opportunities for students to participate in the development of Arlington as a premier venue for arts participation. With professional companies all over the DC area, it is easy to sit back and watch. Lightbulb Learning Services wants to get students up and performing--drama, art, sculpture, photography, poetry, etc.

What is the one thing you think Arlington is missing? (ie place, event, scene)
A summer county-wide participatory arts week would be great!
Who referred you? This is how we give credit!
