crowdsourcing a creative economy in Arlington
We need help finding a venue for March 5 event!
This is what Creative Arlington is about, getting the crowd to help source ideas... getting a mob of creatives to fuse together a great event. Thus, we need your help putting on this event!
We're looking at not more than 100 people at a venue in Arlington to host our event. Ideally, it'd be a host venue that would enjoy talking about what makes its space or business creative.
Whitlows and Clarendon Grill charge for their rooms.
Eventide Restaurant can't guarantee they'd be open in time.
Clarendon Ballroom would be great when we get larger in size.

Does it have to be on Metro? The folks at Vero on Lee Highway are very cool. They also own the Grape Juice Wine Shop.
Or, AAC could do it here if someone wanted to figure out how to get food and drinks (and maybe some music--we have a sound system)...no charge to use our space.

Of the larger happy hour venues in Arlington, I'll suggest the following:
Continental Modern Pool Lounge has good bar and a cool retro interior design. It's one of those places that doesn't seem to have a regular scene, but it has fun design and it's big, right near the Rosslyn metro, and not usually crowded. Here's their website: http://www.modernpoollounge.com/
Cafe Asia is also near the Rosslyn metro and is usually a pretty solid option for a happy hour. I think their back bar is open on Thursdays and we might be able to get that space. I'm not sure what they would have to say about creativity at Cafe Asia, but maybe they'll come up with something! :) You can check them out at http://www.cafeasia.com/

Eleventh Street in Clarendon or Restaurant 3? I have no idea if either could accomodate up to 100 people.

It's also off metro, and I don't know if they'd waive the room fee, but Busboys and Poets in Shirlington would seem to fit the theme pretty well.
Question -- who actually decides? When will we all know what the venue will be?
